Work With Us

Are you a music maker?

We are looking for Devon-based music makers to work with us on a new project funded by Youth Music. 

We're looking for 3 music makers to impart their practice through two workshops per practitioner. One workshop in a deaf school (2hrs) and one workshop in a SEN school (1hr) in Summer 2023.

Practitioners will be supported by PaddleBoat to share their music making styles with diverse young people who will explore a new way of making their own music! We are interested in accessible music making methodologies and keen to work with practitioners with experience of working with diverse young people.

Fee £500 per practitioner.

To apply please fill out this form. Please add a file either an A4 written document OR a 5min max video detailing; your experience, why you'd be perfect for this project and a potential workshop overview. Where possible, include links to portfolios/ relevant work.

Successful applicants must:

  • have an up-to-date enhanced DBS

  • their own resources

  • travel to schools independently (Exmouth and East Budleigh)

A bit more about us

PaddleBoat is an award winning theatre company based in Exeter. We work extensively in mainstream and SEN schools to co-create with young people.

 

We're passionate about sharing stories that make a difference to our audiences, break down barriers and engage isolated communities with the arts. This means we often work with hard-to-reach communities in their local settings, touring work to village halls, libraries and schools across Devon. 


PaddleBoat members are keen to keep developing artistic skills to make work that responds to local communities. In recent years, we have been developing our theatre practice to focus on inclusion, as our schools work brings us into contact with a wide range of children with additional needs. We are passionate about creating inclusive opportunities for all children to access and engage with the arts, regardless of dis/ability and background.
